As a celebration of spring, of love, of coming together, this event features the scholar and translator, Robert Alter. Alter will read selections from his 2018 translation of Song of Songs, and several MPC members will read complementary sensual modern love poems. We plan a pre-reading outdoor event with honeyed mead and snacks in the outdoor courtyard prior to the reading, and see this event as a long-awaited gathering to celebrate poetry in person.
