FOUNDERS ROOM | BELVEDERE-TIBURON LIBRARY

by Abigail Call, Tamalpais High School

Presenting images & words created by students in response to others. The reception at 5 pm includes readings by former Marin Poet Laureate Rebecca Foust, MPC High School Anthology Editor Erin Rodini, and MPC Youth Ambassadors Tashi Manchip & Jackson Bramlette and featured high school student poets.

The Arts Mashup exchange program pairs Marin County high school students to converse anonymously through poetry and different mediums of visual art, only seen by the creators on opening night! Works will be on view during the reception and continuing through mid-April.

Rebecca Foust’s fourth full-length book ONLY (Four Way Books 2022) received a starred review from Publisher’s Weekly. Recognitions include runner up for the 2022 Missouri Review Editors Prize, winner of the Pablo Neruda, CP Cavafy, and James Hearst poetry prizes, a Marin County Poet Laureateship, and fellowships from Hedgebrook, MacDowell, and Sewanee. Recent poems are in The Common, Five Points, Ploughshares, POETRY, and Quarterly West.

Erin Rodoni’s most recent book is And if the Woods Carry You, winner of the 2020 Southern Indiana Review Michael Waters Poetry Prize and finalist for the Northern California Book Award. Her two previous collections are: Body, in Good Light and A Landscape for Loss. Her poems have been published in journals and anthologies such as Blackbird, Poetry Northwest, and Best New Poets. She has won awards from AWP, Ninth Letter, and the Montreal International Poetry Prize. She teaches at the Writing Salon in San Francisco and for CA Poets in the Schools, coaches for Poetry Out Loud, and serves on the board of the Marin Poetry Center.
